DeChambeau edges out Rory McIlroy in thrilling finale
American Bryson DeChambeau has won his second US Open title after a dramatic victory at Pinehurst. The 28-year-old carded a final round of 71 to finish one shot ahead of Rory McIlroy, who collapsed with three bogeys in the final four holes.
DeChambeau, known for his aggressive driving and scientific approach to the game, converted a difficult up-and-down by sinking a four-foot par putt on the 72nd hole to seal the victory.
The win is DeChambeau's second major championship. He previously won the US Open in 2020. It is also his first victory since joining the controversial LIV Golf Series earlier this year.
